REGISTRATION for GAP Workshop on Fluid Flow, Mineralisation & Metamorphism

This one day workshop  will include presentations by Richard Sibson (ex. University of Otago, NZ), Andy Tomkins (Monash University) and Ross Cayley (Geoscience Victoria).

PROGRAMME

1pm - 3:30pm: Structural Permeability in Mineralising Systems

Profesor Richard Sibson (ex. University of Otago)

An Introduction to Structural Permeability Analysis: Topics covered will be components of stress and fabric controlled structural permeability; bulk structural permeability in 3D; application of brittle failure mode plots to define structural permeability regimes.

Dynamic Processes of Fluid Redistribution within the Crustal Seismogenic Zone: Mean stress cycling; suction pump action at dilational fault jogs; fault-valve action; conditions for extreme valving action; case studies from the active magmatic arc in NE Honshu.

4pm: Gold Deposits in High Grade Metamorphic Terranes

Dr Andy Tomkins, Monash University

4.30pm: Tectonic evolution of western and central Victoria: new interpretations from the 2005 pmd-crc deep seismic transect and implications for gold mineralisation
Ross Cayley (Geoscience Victoria), Russell Korsch, Clive Willman, David Moore, Tim Rawling and Vince Morand.

5pm: Future Directions
